Terms of Service — LiteTranscript

TL;DR: Use LiteTranscript responsibly and legally. Don\u2019t transcribe content you have no right to use. The service is provided \u201cas is\u201d. We can update these terms — we\u2019ll note it at the top.

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using LiteTranscript (\u201cthe Service\u201d), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you don\u2019t agree, please don\u2019t use the Service.

2. Description of service

LiteTranscript provides automated transcription and translation of publicly accessible video content from supported platforms (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, X). We use third-party AI models (e.g. OpenAI Whisper) to generate transcripts.

The Service is provided free of charge. We may, in the future, introduce optional paid features — these will be clearly labeled and never affect the free tier.

3. Acceptable use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You will not:

Submit URLs to content you do not have the right to transcribe (e.g. private, copyrighted, or DMCA-protected media).
Attempt to overload, disrupt, or reverse-engineer the Service.
Use the Service to harass, defame, or violate the rights of any third party.
Bypass rate limits or scrape the Service for commercial purposes without permission.
Re-publish transcripts in a way that infringes the original creator\u2019s copyright.

We reserve the right to block or rate-limit any user who violates these rules.

4. Intellectual property

Your content. The original audio and any rights to it remain with the original creator. LiteTranscript claims no ownership over any video you transcribe.

Generated transcripts. The transcript text generated by our AI is provided to you for your use. You are responsible for ensuring you have the rights to use, redistribute, or publish that text.

Our service. The LiteTranscript brand, logo, code and design are owned by us and protected by copyright and trademark law.

5. No warranty / limitation of liability

The Service is provided \u201cas is\u201d and \u201cas available\u201d without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Transcription and translation may contain errors. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, LiteTranscript and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.

6. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The \u201cLast updated\u201d date at the top will reflect any changes. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.

7. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction where the Service is operated, without regard to conflict of law principles. Disputes shall be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction.
